“Evil men do not understand justice, but those who seek the LORD understand it completely.”

The formula is quite simple. If you want to know justice, seek the Lord. It is amazing how we will seek justice in the law, in government, in public policy, and in any of a million other things and save God as a last resort.
If this passage in Proverbs is true, the Lord is the best source for a complete understanding of justice. The Lord is perfectly just and he never changes (James 1:17). It behooves us then to learn from God in His word what justice means and then shape our conduct in society according to His definition of justice. This kind of justice, a complete justice, will put the governments best attempts at justice to shame and may even influence it to raise its standards.
The hard truth is that we cannot expect justice from our government if we are not just people. It all begins with us.
