What is Christian Community?

What is Christian Community? How do we define it? practice it? Is it something that a majority of local churches do well? Is it a priority? Does it matter?

I know that this is a lot of questions but I think we need to be asking them. I am curious to see what kind of responses I will get to this brief and quizzical post. How will those of you who call yourselves Christians answers versus those who admit they are not believers?

Share your thoughts. I give you the first shot. I will share mine in the coming days.

Well, I believe a Christian Community is a community where by and large the majority of the residents are professing believers. This Christian Community would demonstrate their Christianity by loving their fellow residents and seeking to put the well-being of others before themselves. The church should be the focal point for the community and all the needs of the people of this community should be met by the people of the community through the church, not the gov. of the community. The Christ that this Christian Community professes to know would be shown to those around this community by the way the residents of the community live out their daily lives.
